Iron Hart Brewing was the first brewery to open in Carbondale. The idea for this brewery started out with close friends brewing at home just for fun. Today, each batch of beer is made with high-quality ingredients and the finest barley, wheat, and hops. The brewery is currently moving to a new location that has yet to be revealed! Wallenpaupack Brewing Company
Find your way to nearby Hawley, PA, and you will discover Wallenpaupack Brewing Company. This is one of the area’s newest breweries opening in the fall of 2017. They are a 20-barrel brewhouse with 8 signature beers. A few of their specialty beers include the Pocono Porter and the Paupack Cream Ale. Wallenpaupack Brewing Company offers visitors a family-friendly environment and a full food menu to enjoy with your beer.
Irving Cliff Brewery
Located about 20 minutes from Carbondale in Honesdale is Irving Cliff Brewery. Their batches of beer are quite unique since they are made with locally sourced mountain spring water. A few of their seasonal beers are the Honesdale Harvest and Ichabod’s Lost Pumpkin Ale. This is also a great spot to spend an evening out. They offer live entertainment on select evenings and a full menu of delicious food like smoked brisket, Irish nachos and a selection of burgers.
Here and Now Brewing Company
Also in the town of Honesdale is Here and Now Brewing Company. With funky names like Alternative Reality, Bat Patterns, and Bee Bomb, you know this is a place you need to try. The staff at Here and Now pride themselves on the use of locally sourced ingredients to make a one-of-a-kind, quality product. The brewery is open Wednesday and Thursday from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.
Pocono Brewery Company
Last but not least is the Pocono Brewery Company in Swiftwater, PA. The location is less than an hour from Carbondale but worth the drive. Each craft beer is an inspiration and uses ingredients extracted straight from the source. Their Pocono Pines Pilsner, for example, uses local pine tree spindles to flavor each batch. Other unique brews include the Magic Bus, the Pocono Rhubus, and the Pokawachne Golden Ale. Pair your beer with one of their oak wood-fired pizza creations and you have the makings of a perfect evening!
