Pinky’s Family Restaurant
Pinky’s Family Restaurant is on Main Street in Carbondale. This local restaurant has been welcoming diners since it opened back in 1953. It was originally owned and operated by the Cerras. Joseph Cerra was nicknamed Pinky, and this is where the restaurant gets its name. Their breakfast menu features items like the Pinky’s Frittata, sausage gravy over biscuits, and eggs any style. You can also dine on peanut butter chip pancakes and lunch items like homemade meatballs, burgers, and sandwiches. They are open on Sunday for breakfast only, and then at 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday.
McDonnell’s Family Restaurant
McDonnell’s Family Restaurant on Main Street is a staple here in Carbondale. Since opening back in 1956, guests have returned year after year for their great service and affordable menu of comfort food. Their menu includes made-from-scratch soup, homemade fruit pies, and specialty sandwiches like the chicken salad club. They are open Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Pierogi & Pizza Plus
Have Pierogi & Pizza Plus deliver one of its signature round or square cut pizzas. For cheese lovers there’s the Peckville or go with the traditional New York-style. Try the famous Old Forge style pizza or the restaurant’s variation on it called the Carbondale. Kick it up a notch with an assortment of Designer Pizzas that include everything from Bacon Cheeseburger to Hot Wing and Shrimp and Garlic. The menu also features a variety of sandwiches and wraps. The garlic knots and pizza knots are local favorites. Pierogi & Pizza Plus is open daily from 3 to 9 p.m. on North Scott Street.
Carwanna
Carwanna is on Salem Avenue and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant also offers late-night hours during the weekend. Their fresh-cut fries pair well with their chili burgers and Texas Weiners, which are legendary among locals!
