4 Christmas Tree Farms to Visit This Holiday Season
Roba Family Farms
For decades, Roba Family Farms has been welcoming visitors to choose and cut their own Christmas tree. This family-owned business sells fresh cut trees at their North Abington Township location starting on November 23rd. Once you arrive, a wagon takes you to cut your tree and brings you and your tree back. Be sure to bring your camera since Santa Clause visits Roba Family Farms each weekend. You also won’t want to miss out on the freshly made cider doughnuts. They’re irresistible.
Olsommer’s Christmas Tree Farm
Located about 30 minutes from Carbondale is Olsommer’s Christmas Tree Farm in Sterling, PA. Since 1983, families have made it their tradition to cut their many varieties of trees for their home. Trees available include Balsam Fir, Blue Spruce, Englemann Spruce, Fraser Fir, Douglas Fir, Concolor Fir, Grand Fir, Noble Fir, Canaan Fir, and Norway Spruce. You can find trees as small as 5 feet up to as large as 15 feet. Olsommer’s is open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily starting the day after Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve.
Beezup Christmas Tree Farm
Beezup Christmas Tree Farm is a short 30-minute drive from Carbondale in Clark’s Summit. During the holiday season, they are open daily from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Trees are priced anywhere from $6.00 to $8.00 per foot depending on the type of tree. Grab a free hot chocolate, bundle up and head out on an adventure. Trees can be expertly trimmed if needed.
Spring Hills Farm
At Spring Hills Farm in North Abington Township, you can cut down your own tree or let them do the work for you and select a pre-cut tree. At around a 30-minute drive, the farm is close enough for a day trip while you’re visiting Carbondale. Their tree selection includes Blue and White Spruce, Fraser and Douglas Fir, and Scotch, Red, and White Pines. They are open from Thanksgiving to Christmas from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Be sure to stick around for their horse-drawn wagon rides on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 3:00 pm.
