Elk Mountain is distinguished as one of the first commercial ski resorts in the state. It also boasts the highest altitude slopes in Pennsylvania. Those who make the trek to the mountain in Susquehanna County will find 180 pristine acres to explore and a snow-covered playground that features 27 trails and two terrain parks.

Trails are designed to offer challenging opportunities and a fun experience for skiers and snowboarders of every ability. There are green, blue and black diamond runs with 25 percent of the terrain labeled for beginners, 35 percent for intermediate skiers and 40 percent at the expert level. Little Foot and Stompin’ Grounds are the terrain parks built for skiers and snowboarders. Fun and exciting features change frequently to keep things fresh for riders.

Elk Mountain Ski Resort is frequently recognized for its commitment to grooming and snow-making. While the area averages five feet of fresh powder per season, it is enhanced by round-the-clock snowmaking when conditions permit. The ski resort boasts state-of-the-art snowmaking technology. A complete snowmaking overhaul in 1999 has been followed by continual updates. In fact, the resort’s snowmaking investments now exceeds $10 million.
