Stop at Maiolatesi Wine Cellars for an Incredible Experience

Sal Maiolatesi didn’t always want to own and operate a successful winery. His hobby of making wine turned into a business when he opened his first winery back in 1999. In 2007, a fire broke out and destroyed the winery. While Sal was rebuilding, he continued to make wine with the help of his friends in the winemaking business. Maiolatesi Wine Cellars opened its new winemaking facility just a little over a year later in 2009. The 10,000-square-foot winery sits on 36 acres and features a gorgeous tasting room and a 2,000-square-foot retail space. In addition to this space in Scott Township, there is also a retail location in Mayfield in the WSK Plaza.

Pizza Night

What goes better together than wood-fired pizza and a glass of wine? Each Friday night, Maiolatesi Wine Cellars hosts Bobby Mac’s Mobile Wood Fired Pizza. Owned and operated by Sal’s sister and brother-in-law, Bobby Mac’s features a menu of appetizers, salad, and gourmet pizza. Reservations must be made in advance, especially in the summer months. This event has been known to book up very quickly each week. Pizza night will be on a mini-hiatus for the month of May while they install a new pizza oven, so they will not be serving pizza on Friday nights. Their full menu will still be available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
